Cancer or malignant growths is a class of diseases in which a group of cells display uncontrolled growth (division beyond the normal limits). It can occur in any organ or part of body. Besides intrusion and destruction of the functions of the organ where it occurs, it sometimes metastases and spreads to other locations in the body via lymph nodes or blood posing great threat to   patients’ lives. Some cancer is called “cancer of the rich” which is commonly found in developed countries. Such cancer includes lung cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer and prostate cancer. There is the so called “cancer of the poor”. They occur more frequently in low- and middle-income countries. They include stomach cancer, liver cancer, esophagus cancer and cervical cancer. With changing life style and environment, there is a sharp rise of lung cancer, breast cancer and colorectal cancer cases inChina. Currently, the most commonly occurring cancer inChina’s cities is lung cancer. The Province  of Guangdong sees most cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
