Within the cancer treatment circle, there exists a cancer culture or rather the rules of the game, that is, what oncologists have written in their books or papers are not necessarily out of their hearts. The first thing doctors are concerned with is the “legality” of their treatment; whether there is any documented evidence or whether it can be documented; this may not necessarily rational. They would focus on tumour shrinkage or its eradication. Whether the treatment will bring patients a “second pain” or a “second penalty for the same crime”, or whether patients would live a better quality of life and their lives prolonged is of secondary importance.
