Recently, the leaders of BIOMED Hospital and SUNHAN Hospital from South Korea visited Fuda Cancer Hospital affiliated to Jinan University (Fuda). General Manager Shi Jian, President Luo Rongcheng, Vice President Niu Lizhi and other leaders from Fuda attended reception and discussion.
President Luo first extended a warm welcome to visitors and briefly introduced the development and medical techniques of Fuda. He said that the medical team led by him and Vice President Wang Yuandong that is good at surgical treatment and biological immunotherapy, is working jointly with the team led by Vice President Niu Lizhi, who specializes in advanced minimally invasive medical technologies such as “Nano-Knife” and cryoablation, providing personalized medical services for cancer patients in more than 100 countries and regions around the world.
Next, they had in-depth discussions about cancer treatment and hospital service, and exchanged opinions with each other on work characteristics and hospital development.
Later, the Korean delegation was showed around hospital ward, medical imaging center and clinical treatment center, and they also watched the treatment process of Nano-Knife ablation, argon-helium cryoablation, interventional therapy, and brachytherapy. After learning about the advanced concepts of medical technology and nursing care from Fuda, the delegation spoke highly of Fuda whose cancer experts had already made achievements and played a leading role in minimally invasive medicine in Asia. They impressed by sense of happiness among China's advanced cancer patients at Fuda, because they not only received the world's leading cancer treatment, but also enjoyed the care of the medical staff. However, in South Korea there are only chemotherapy and radiotherapy for advanced cancer patients, so patients had to struggle a lot till the end of their lives. They also praised Fuda for a variety of treatments and a high standard to help cancer patients in early, middle and late stages to improve their condition and their quality of life.
Cryoablation had been introduced to Fuda, which was widely used to treat solid tumors in 2001. It has successfully treated many early, middle and late stage cancer patients, so for those patients with unresectable tumors, cryoablation will be a new choice. With the development of cryotherapy and the advancement of cryoablation equipment, cryoablation in some malignant tumors possess more advantages than traditional surgery and radiotherapy. During this visit, the Korean delegation sincerely hoped their hospitals can introduce the same technology from Fuda or introduce Korean cancer patients to Fuda for further treatment.
It is reported that SUNHAN Hospital was co-founded by a number of caring doctors in South Korea. “SUNHAN” means kindness, which coincides with the service concept of Fuda.
General Manager Mr. Shi Jian said, "Korean hospitals are worth our learning. I hope that both of us can establish a long-term friendly relationship. And Fuda will plan to visit South Korea to enhance mutual communication. Thanks to this visit, we can both achieve benefits and win-win results, which can also benefit more patients. More importantly, we can build a bridge between Chinese and South Korean hospitals."
Fuda has always attached great importance to international cooperation. This exchange with BIOMED Hospital and SUNHAN Hospital in South Korea has enhanced mutual communication and understanding in medical treatment, service and management, which will promote win-win cooperation between China and South Korean.
Finally, the Sino-ROK exchange turned out to be a complete success. After this visit, we has known more about each other and also learned a lot from each other.
