Recently, domestic innovative tumor composite thermal and cold ablation system application demonstration research project, a key project of the National Key R&D Program "Diagnostic Equipment and Biomedical Materials", was launched in Guangzhou. Guangzhou Fuda Medical Co., Ltd. officially licensed as one of the regional demonstration units.

This project is led by Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center, and is jointly participated by many tertiary hospitals and well-known medical institutions such as Beijing Cancer Hospital, Beijing Hospital, Ruijin Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, and Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Fudan University.
According to WHO, cancer has become the second leading cause of death around the world, with nearly one-sixth of deaths caused by cancer. In China, the cancer survival rate is 40%, which often brings huge financial burdens and both physical and mental pressure to patients and families. At the same time, some patients are unable to undergo surgery due to age or poor physical condition, which seriously affects their health and quality of life. Through extensive clinical practice, this project will provide more rigorous, scientific, and referenceable clinical data for the application of domestic innovative tumor composite thermal and cold ablation systems to benefit tumor patients.
After investigations and judgments, the project team selected Guangzhou Fuda Medical Co., Ltd. (with Guangzhou Fuda Cancer Hospital as its practice base) as one of the 12 regional demonstration units in the country. Fuda will specifically participate in three sub-project including liver, breast, lung, pancreatic tumor ablation, which is an affirmation and promotion for Fuda. As a national tertiary cancer hospital, the chairman unit of the International Society of Cryosurgery, the founding unit of the Asian Society of Cryosurgery, and National Key Clinical Tumor Specialty (oncology), Fuda will play the demonstration role and ensure that the project goes smoothly.
